Silent Breach Launches CCPA Compliance Auditing Service

St. Petersburg, FL, September 29, 2019 –(PR.com)– Silent Breach has expanded its privacy regulations compliance services to include the California Consumer Protections Act.

“CCPA is set to go into effect at the beginning of 2020 and yet many companies still have a lot of work to do to become fully compliant,” said David Adams, VP of Governance, Risk and Compliance. “Through our work on GDPR, HIPAA and other privacy regulations, we have established a deep background in privacy law that we’ve now extended to include CCPA. Our Privacy Regulations Compliance audits are designed to leverage Silent Breach’s full legal expertise to ensure that our clients are fully prepared for CCPA.”

The California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) is designed to enhance data privacy rights and consumer protections for the citizens of California and comes into effect on January 1, 2020. CCPA applies to any for-profit business that does business in California and has annual gross revenues over $25 million or possesses data pertaining to at least 50,000 devices, households, or consumers or earns more than half of its annual revenue from selling consumer data.

Fines will range up to $7,500 for each intentional violation and $2,500 for unintentional violation. In the event of a security breach, companies can be fined between $100 and $750 per Californian user, in addition to any other court-ordered damages.
