Commission approval of amended complaint – The Commission has authorized the staff to file an amended complaint in the ongoing litigation against Select Personnel Management, Inc., d/b/a Select Management Solutions, and its principal James Stewart. According to the FTC’s original complaint in this matter, the defendants are Canadian telemarketers who operated a scheme targeting U.S. consumers with false claims that they could reduce their credit card interest rates. Through the action announced today, the FTC will add five corporate defendants and two individual defendants to the case: 1402473 Ontario Limited, 1489841 Ontario Limited, 2105635 Ontario Limited, Special T Services Group Inc., United Registration Services Inc., Luigi Paulozza and Philip J. Richards.

Commission approval of final consent order – Following a public comment period, the Commission has approved the issuance of a final consent order in the matter concerning Flow International Corporation and OMAX Corporation. The vote approving issuance of the final order was 4-0.
