FTC Commissioner Joshua D. Wright to Resign

Joshua D. Wright, who has served as a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission since January 2013, will resign his position with his last day as a commissioner on Monday, August 24, 2015.

“It has been a privilege to work with Commissioner Wright during his tenure at the Federal Trade Commission,” said FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez. “The agency has benefited greatly from his perspective as a lawyer and economist in connection with the matters that have come before us. We are going to miss him and wish him well on his return to academic life.”

A Republican, Wright was appointed by President Obama to replace J. Thomas Rosch. Wright will return to George Mason University School of Law as a Professor of Law.

Prior to being a Commissioner, Wright had also served at the FTC as an inaugural Scholar in Residence and in both the Bureau of Competition and Bureau of Economics.
