FTC Invites Public to Submit Questions Online During Senior ID Theft Workshop

The Federal Trade Commission will host a one-day workshop on senior identity theft on May 7, 2013, in Washington, D.C., and invites participants watching the webcast to submit questions to panelists online.

FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez will provide opening remarks at the workshop. Tax and government benefits identity theft, medical identity theft, and identity theft in long-term care are a few of the topics scheduled for discussion at Senior Identity Theft: A Problem in this Day and Age. A complete agenda is now available online.

The live webcast will begin at 9:00 a.m. EDT. Viewers can submit questions throughout the day via the following channels for consideration by the moderators:

Twitter: FTC staff will live-tweet the workshop from its @FTC Twitter account and use the hashtag #idtheft.

Facebook: Post questions to the FTC’s Facebook page in the workshop status thread.

Email: Submit questions via email to seniorIDtheft@ftc.gov.

Staff will do their best to answer as many questions as possible from the audience and online during the workshop.
