The Federal Trade Commission has postponed a planned press conference at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., which was scheduled for today – Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 12:30 p.m. ET – to announce a major step forward in efforts to help victims of identity theft recover from this pernicious crime.
The press conference has been postponed until further notice due to the federal government closure and the ongoing weather conditions in the nation’s capital.
The agency is also postponing the release of new statistics about the number of identity theft and tax identity theft complaints to the FTC in 2015, until a new announcement time has been confirmed.
