As part of its continuing effort to protect consumers from deceptive energy and environmental claims and provide them with information to help them make informed purchases, the Federal Trade Commission will hold a call-in media availability. The FTC will announce several enforcement actions targeting companies that allegedly made deceptive claims about the energy-efficiency of their replacement windows, and about how much consumers could expect to save on their home heating and cooling bills by installing new windows.
James Kohm, Associate Director of the FTC’s Enforcement Division will host the call-in availability on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 1:30 pm E.T. to explain the significance of these cases and provide useful information for homeowners who may be looking to replace the windows in their home.
