POSTPONED: FTC to Announce Major Advance in Helping Victims Recover from Identity Theft

The FTC has postponed the Identity Theft Press Conference due to the government closure & DC weather conditions.

The Federal Trade Commission will host a press conference at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 12:30 p.m. ET to announce a major step forward in efforts to help victims of identity theft recover from this pernicious crime. The agency also will be releasing new statistics about the number of identity theft and tax identity theft complaints to the FTC in 2015.

FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Falls Church, Va., Chief of Police Mary Gavin will be available at the press conference to answer questions from the media. Chief Gavin is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
