The Aliso Niguel High School basketball Varsity and Junior Varsity teams will hold the 3rd annual Basketball Skills Clinic for Special Needs Young Adults on October 12th from 10am – 1pm at the high school gym.
High School Coaches and Players will work with the young adults on basketball skills, dribbling and ultimately play a scrimmage. Head Coach Keith Barnett teaches his players on and off the court the importance of community outreach.
Players are each given a special camp T Shirt and invited to attend a High School Varsity game during the season to cheer on the team. Varsity member and Junior, Nick Steiert coordinates the annual event. Nick said, “It is great to work with the players during the clinic and then to see them again at our Varsity games.”
Steiert works with Glenwood House, Lighthouse Ministries and Coast Hills Community Church to invite special needs young adults living in Orange County.
Thanks to donations from Costco in Aliso Viejo and Ralph’s in Laguna Niguel, the event will conclude with a pizza lunch for players and families.
