Fine Relic Partners with Shapeways to 3D Print Jewelry

New York, NY, October 09, 2019 –(PR.com)– Fine Relic, a new small business startup in affordable Jewelry, based in Montreal Canada, has partnered with Shapeways, based in New York, to 3D print it’s entire jewelry, one piece at a time.

The company has been looking at ways of manufacturing its designs, in a multitude of materials including sterling silver, rhodium or 14k gold plated brass jewelry, and other unique materials such as versatile plastic, while maintaining the affordability of their products. However, this proved difficult in the very legacy-world of jewelry making, where the multitude of parties involved in making each piece end up affecting the prices markups to 3 or 4 times the cost of production.

Shapeways is a Dutch-founded, New York-based 3D printing marketplace and service, startup company uses cutting edge materials and technologies is able to 3d print all shapes and designs.

Fine Relic’s founder Younes believes the answer is in technology and manufacturing locally “By using Shapeways cutting technology and plugging its eCommerce website directly to Shapeways on-demand manufacturing, cutting costs related to holding inventory and waste.”

The journey started with design ideas and basically offering great quality products without the markups, however, legacy jewelry making involves so many steps, that it’s just impossible to have a competitive price point for a small business.

Legacy jewelry making involves wax or mold printing, casting, hand polishing. Then you would have to make multiple products for photography and marketing, adding to the cost of each product.

Technology and advanced eCommerce integration allow Fine Relic to offer made-to-order products while cutting costs drastically even compared to the already established big names of the jewelry industry.

By using Shapeway’s manufacturing techniques, all these legacy steps are bypassed, allowing a tiny profit margin to be added to the cost and passing all the savings to Fine Relic customers.

“We are super excited to focus on creativity and designing beautiful jewelry pieces with endless material possibilities while knowing that as a small business, we are able to offer our clients the best products there is in the market at a fraction of the regular prices.

“We wish to help you look great and put a smile on your face every time you wear Fine Relic (https://www.finerelic.com/) Jewelry.”
