P.O.W.E.R. Magazine Devotes the Fall 2019 Issue to Women Who Have Cancer and Survivors in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Manhasset, NY, September 30, 2019 –(PR.com)– P.O.W.E.R Magazine has devoted the fall 2019 issue to women who have cancer and cancer survivors in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized and powerwoe.com are proud to feature these cancer survivors who did not allow their cancer diagnosis to stop them from pursuing their goals and dreams.

About The Courageous Cancer Survivors Highlighted in P.O.W.E.R. Magazine
Featured on the cover of the fall issue is Jaclyn Smith, an award-winning actress, designer, businesswoman and role model. Her breast cancer was discovered during her yearly mammogram. She had a lumpectomy and radiation in 2002. Jacklyn remains vigilant about her follow-up care. She credits her family for being her inspiration throughout this difficult time. She stresses that no one should go through cancer alone.

Fran Drescher, actress, director, producer and philanthropist, is a 19-year uterine cancer survivor. She was misdiagnosed for two years by eight doctors. As a result of this, Fran wrote her book, “Cancer Schmancer,” and founded the Cancer Schmancer Movement whose mission is to educate, prevent and activate patients. In addition, Fran was instrumental in passing the Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act of 2005.

Actress, author, singer, businesswoman and health advocate, Suzanne Somers, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She underwent a lumpectomy and radiation, but declined to undergo chemotherapy. After doctors misdiagnosed her with inoperable cancer, Suzanne decided to interview doctors about cancer treatments. Those interviews became the basis of her controversial book, “Knockout,” about alternative treatments to chemotherapy.

Paula Schneider, a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed in 2007, is now the president and CEO of Susan G. Komen®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization. She lost her mother to metastatic breast cancer in 2010. Paula is determined to do all that she can to move forward on this iconic organization’s mission to end breast cancer.

Charlotte (Char) L. Murphy is a four-time breast cancer survivor. Char is a non-practicing attorney, inspirational author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and the founder of BelieveInspire. After 15 years of running a successful law firm, she was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the years of treatment and illness, Char states that the upside to it all is that it led to her current career. Many of the women highlighted in the fall issue of P.O.W.E.R. Magazine and powerwoe.com have stated that being a survivor led them to start or join businesses and foundations or write books to help others fight the fight. In addition to these brave cancer survivors, P.O.W.E.R. is always proud to feature women in all industries and professions who empower and inspire us every day.

This issue of P.O.W.E.R. Magazine also features a detailed list of cancer assistance contacts for all different needs, including phone numbers, websites and helpful information. By devoting this issue to cancer survivors and including important contact information, it is P.O.W.E.R’s hope that it will serve as a source to enlighten women about this disease and assist those going through it.
