Birmingham, United Kingdom, October 08, 2019 –(PR.com)– Released this week is the film drama 7 Days – The Story of Blind Dave Heeley

The true story of black country legend Dave Heeley – known as “Blind Dave.”

The film drama focuses on Dave Heeley becoming the first blind man to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents following in the footsteps of Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Sir Ranulph who is also the patron of the film said, “I was very pleased to hear a film project about Blind Dave Heeley was going to be made, he’s an inspirational athlete and gentleman.”

The film also documents Dave’s childhood and the barriers he’s had to overcome throughout his life. despite that, Dave says it’s surreal to have the movie made about him, “First the book and now a film – I can’t get over it really, I am just a normal chap from West Brom. These things don’t happen to someone like me.”

Dave from West Bromwich, now 60, has raised over three million pounds for various charities during the last 15 years by doing a series of incredible ultra-distance races and challenges around the world.

Dave has also been given the freedom of his beloved West Bromwich Albion Football Club where he also supports the foundation to help local people in the area.

The 45-minute film was made by the Birmingham team of producer Nigel Davey and Directors Ian and Dominic Higgins of Pixel Revolution Films.

The film had its premiere back in February this year at the world famous Birmingham Rep Theatre, in Birmingham. But for Dave, the crowning moment has been to have the film screened at the West Bromwich Albion Football club, where it played to a packed crowd.

“He’s a fantastic ambassador, he’s an inspiration to me personally and everybody at the Foundation,” said Director of The Albion Foundation, Rob Lake.

The film has already picked up awards in Los Angeles and Italy.

Producer Nigel Davey said, ”We didn’t make the film because of what Blind Dave Heeley as done, we made it because of who he is, a complete inspiration to anyone who meets him.”

Director Ian Higgins said, “We were looking around the world for an uplifting story and found an incredible one in our own neck of the woods.”

Director Dominic Higgins added, “There’s a moment in the film when Dave says ‘blindness has taught me another way to see the world’. That sums up the story we wanted to tell.”

The cast includes, London based stage actor Jack Lane, who plays Dave and Birmingham born Sarah Manners who plays his wife, Debbie. Sarah is best known to audiences for her role in the TV Soap casualty.

Also appearing in the film are Harry Potter actors Oliver and James Phelps
