The United Methodist Communities Foundation is holding the Creating Experiences Gala on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 6:00 to 10:00pm at the Panther Valley Golf and Country Club in Allamuchy, NJ to support UMC at Bristol Glen for a new main street.
In support of UMC at Bristol Glen, the United Methodist Communities Foundation is holding the Creating Experiences Gala on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 6:00 to 10:00pm at the Panther Valley Golf and Country Club in Allamuchy, NJ. The gala upholds the enhancement of shared living and learning spaces both residents and visitors affectionately call “Main Street.”
Sweetwater Construction Corporation is the lead event sponsor. Sanford Hollander, Esq., the oldest-practicing attorney in Sussex County and community leader is the honoree.
The construction materials reflect Newton’s rural and natural environment. Light wood surfaces, tile, stone, leather, barn-style beams, and large windows bring the outdoors inside. Upon completion, the reconfigured Main Street will offer an atrium, café, multipurpose room, library, gift shop, lounge, dining rooms, art studio, game area, beauty salon, and more.
The new Main Street exemplifies UMC’s mission of compassionately serving in community so that all are free to choose abundant life, stretching well beyond its campuses to touch the surrounding neighborhoods and towns. Guests from within and outside of UMC at Bristol Glen can share meals, programming, or just a cup of coffee to connect and engage people. Bristol Glen’s professional staff, as well as local community groups, will offer educational and other experiences for everyone.
Since its beginning in 2000, Bristol Glen has been a vibrant community partner, hosting meetings, sponsoring future health professionals, offering Senior Space and other endeavors in the greater Newton, NJ area.
Susan Sharp, vice president of philanthropy, reflects, “Interacting with friends and family and having outside interests correlates to living longer and healthier lives – our project was designed with this in mind.”
The gala features a disc jockey, hors’ d’oeuvres, cocktail hour with a silent auction, dinner with a live auction including a fund-a-need component, and dancing. For information on how you can participate, please contact Susan Sharp at 732-731-2122 or SSharp@UMCommunities.org
