XPlora Yachts and Wago are announcing PICASOTM: solutions for Programmable Intelligent Controls for Automatic Shipboard Operations. PICASO integrates powerful Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), smart devices, and equipment from most common marine electronics and informatics manufacturers.
With PICASO, hundreds of telemetric events can be monitored in real-time while yet allowing single buttons to control a multitude of complex actions under computer control using open, non-proprietary software. From the largest cruise ships and commercial vessels to recreational yachts, thousands of dollars can be saved and dangerous interruptions of service caused by unexpected failures can be minimized or eliminated.
Following the best practices from commercial aviation: measurement, telemetry and other data inputs can now be aggregated and integrated in the Cloud with AI applications to provide control and automation of systems on vessels for a fraction of the cost of competing products from existing suppliers.
“The PICASO solutions we have developed are as powerful for individual boat owners as they are for fleets of commercial boats. The age of the smart boat has truly arrived and the benefits are more reliable vessels with our technologies that are much more powerful then competitive systems, but are yet easier to control, operate and maintain,” said Stephen Wu, General Manager at XPlora Yachts.
“WAGO is a world leader for products from connectivity through to programmable automation solutions. We are proud of our long history of enabling game changing solutions for the maritime industries,” said Carlos Ruiz, Marine Industry Manager for WAGO Corporation.
This collaboration between XPlora Yachts and WAGO delivers trusted, simple, inexpensive solutions that promise to revolutionize the possibilities for monitoring, command and control of both simple and complex systems in the commercial and recreational maritime markets.
