MEXICO CITY, Oct. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V. (“Aeromexico”) (BMV: AEROMEX) today reported September 2019 operational results.
- Grupo Aeromexico transported 1 million 581 thousand passengers in September; a 7.8% year-on-year decrease. International passenger numbers decreased by 8.7%, while domestic passenger numbers decreased by 7.3%.
- Demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), decreased by 4.3%, year-on-year. Aeromexico’s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), decreased by 4.6% year-on-year.
- Aeromexico’s September load factor was 81.2%, a 0.2 p.p. increase versus September 2018.
- During September 2019, Aeromexico’s planned fleet included twelve 737 MAX aircraft. The 737 MAX was grounded during March 2019.

- “Load Factor” equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline’s capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights only.
- “Passengers” refers to the total number of passengers transported by the airline.
