Are you thinking about using an investment professional? You can use the Check Out Your Investment Professional search tool on Investor.gov to research investment professionals and, importantly, confirm that they are licensed and registered. You can also use the SEC Action Lookup – Individuals (SALI) feature to see whether an investment professional has a court judgment or Commission order against him or her in an SEC enforcement matter or been subject of sanctions by the SEC. Knowing who you are dealing with is a great first step toward protecting your money.
