WASHINGTON— Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu today hosted former Comptrollers and Acting Comptrollers to mark the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) 160^th anniversary of overseeing the federal banking system.

Seven former agency leaders joined Acting Comptroller Hsu to reflect on their tenures leading the agency and discuss the value of the OCC’s supervision of national banks and federal savings associations.

“I am honored to continue a long and distinguished legacy of ensuring the federal banking system is strong in its foundation and resilient through change,” said Acting Comptroller Hsu.

The OCC was created as a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by the National Currency Act of February 25, 1863.
