KYIV – Today, Deputy Secretary Adeyemo met with key members of the Verkhovna Rada during his travel to Kyiv. Deputy Secretary Adeyemo discussed ongoing efforts by the international coalition to provide Ukraine the resources it needs to defend itself, including helping to mobilize over $85 billion in budget support from the United States and international partners in addition to over $24 billion in early recovery and reconstruction assistance.
The Deputy Secretary commended the government of Ukraine on maintaining reform momentum and discussed how the Rada is prioritizing reform efforts, with a focus on revenue generation and anti-corruption reforms. Deputy Secretary Adeyemo expressed appreciation for the collaboration between international partners and government officials to advance reforms necessary for Ukraine to advance in its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
