NEW YORK – Today, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. Deputy Secretary Adeyemo underscored the deep and strategic partnership between the United States and Jordan. He noted that Jordan remains an anchor of stability in the region, even while facing economic and humanitarian challenges from the war in Gaza. Deputy Secretary Adeyemo commended Jordan’s reform efforts, including addressing reforms to boost sustainable growth and job creation. The Deputy Secretary and His Majesty also discussed regional developments including the importance of maintaining economic stability in the West Bank. Finally, the Deputy Secretary thanked King Abdallah for the continued partnership in combatting terrorist finance in the region.
