RIYADH — Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 17. During his visit, the Deputy Secretary met with senior government officials, including Minister of Energy, H.R.H. Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Finance, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Assistant Chief of State Security, H.E. Abdullah bin Abdulkarim bin Abdulaziz Al Issa, and Governor of the Public Investment Fund, H.E. Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan.
During the meetings, the participants discussed the importance of the bilateral Saudi-U.S. relationship and the critical steps we are taking to advance the recovery from COVID-19 in our countries and globally, including strengthening the economic recovery. The Deputy Secretary and his Saudi counterparts also discussed our deep partnership in combatting money laundering and the financing of terrorism and proliferation.
The Deputy Secretary also participated in a roundtable with local entrepreneurs to hear their views on opportunities for launching new businesses, the job market for young Saudis, and the development of the technology sector.
