Readout of Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen’s Meeting with Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with H. E. Ali Allawi, Finance Minister of the Republic of Iraq.  Secretary Yellen reaffirmed the United States’ strong support for Iraq, and noted the close relationship between the U.S. Treasury and the Iraqi Ministry of Finance.  Minister Allawi explained the economic challenges Iraq faces, and the government’s determination to address them.
