WASHINGTON-Earlier today, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo met with German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck. Secretary Yellen affirmed the United States’ support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and our commitment, together with our partners, to holding Russia accountable. The Secretary thanked Vice Chancellor Habeck for Germany’s close sanctions coordination, including actions related to Nord Stream 2. Secretary Yellen also emphasized U.S. support for German and European energy security and welcomed Germany’s efforts to diversify and decarbonize its energy supply.
