WASHINGTON — Today, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Finance Minister of Indonesia Sri Mulyani Indrawati on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank. Secretary Yellen congratulated Minister Sri Mulyani for her adept management of Indonesia’s G20 presidency this year, and commended Indonesia’s leadership in securing broad support for the launch of the new Financial Intermediary Fund for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response. She also underscored the important work of the G20 Finance-Health Task Force and urged an ambitious work program for next year. Secretary Yellen also discussed issues linked to the Indonesia Just Energy Transition Partnership under development and Indonesia’s Energy Transition Mechanism Country Platform. The Secretary highlighted the economic benefits Indonesia could derive as a result of the price cap on Russian oil exports.
