WASHINGTON — U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin issued the following statement today on the selection of Louis DeJoy to serve as U.S. Postmaster General:
“Louis DeJoy’s knowledge of supply chains, logistics, and management make him an outstanding choice to serve as the 75th Postmaster General of the United States. As the CEO of a nationwide logistics solutions company and Postal Service contractor for over 25 years, he will bring valuable business experience to this important role and help lead the Postal Service to a successful future for the benefit of its employees, suppliers, and customers.
“The Postal Service is essential to our economy and its outstanding postal workers are helping the American people weather the coronavirus pandemic by delivering a dramatically increased volume of packages—many containing critical goods and supplies.
“The Postal Service workforce and hardworking people across the nation should feel confident that with Louis DeJoy’s leadership, this historic and cherished American institution will experience a bright future.”
